Creating Surface Pattern Design
Summary
This project uses pixels to create an interesting visual that would be suitable for a variety of surfaces. It is meant to evoke interest with a sense of visual order. My theme (top left) is the swamps. I first created vector images of a dragonfly, a frog, and a turtle in Adobe Illustrator. I then explored creating a pattern design using photoshop. I gained valuable skill in the application of photoshop medium. I also gained a better understanding of color coordination. I learned to recognize the role that the negative space in my artwork plays, and how to use it in my visual narrative. Top right and bottom left patterns were created in Adobe Illustrator each using a number or a letter respectively.
